Stony Lake Yarns Website Stony Lake Yarns was born by combining two of my passions, needlework and nature. The inspiration for my hand-dyed yarns comes from the many colours that can bet found on and around Stony Lake. The beautiful blues of the lake and sky, the lavish greens of the pines and oaks, the striking greys of the granite, the bold reds of the sumachs and maples, and the vibrant pinks, oranges, and purples of the sunsets. The bases I work with are Merino and Merino blends with most of the colours being available in sock weight and worsted weight.

Worth Mending www worthmending.com Our main project is the Swift Darning Loom. This vintage-inspired tool helps you to quickly and easily create woven patches to mend clothing. Flip the hooks side to side to alternately raise and lower your threads – then slip the needle through the loops and repeat for a perfect over-under weave.

It’s very versatile, too! The rectangular work surface allows for a much larger patch than typical round designs. With our optional accessories the Swift Darner can stand alone as a mini loom to make elbow patches, patchwork pockets, badges, woven jewelry and mini tapestries using just a small amount of yarn.

All of our creations are made in small batches from reclaimed materials in our studio in Kitchener, Ontario.
