Learn the art of thrumming your hand knits. A tradition from the east coast, thrumming was originally a way to line hand knits using leftover scraps from weavers and mills, but it has since become a popular and stylish way to make your knits warm and toasty. Using unspun roving, you’ll learn the art of making good thrums, and knitting them in securely while starting a pair of mittens.

Materials Required:
5.5mm DPN’s or a long circular needle for magic loop
6.0mm DPN’s or a long circular needle for magic loop
100g of Aran or Chunky Weight Yarn
50g of feltable wool or alpaca roving
Tapestry needle

Homework Prior to Class:
Prior to the class you should cast on and knit the cuff, as well as the increase section, so that you have the required 36 sts to start knitting the thrummed portion of the mitten.
